Guide to Publishing

Anything, really. Even the stuff you cranked out the night before. Chances are, someone will be interested in reading it.
What to start with? What about those 15 page research papers that you went to Widener for?
You can upload your stuff in a variety of file formats, like Word, Powerpoint, PDF or OpenOffice.

In some classes, professors ask students to distribute their papers to their peers. In others, they tell students what others have written about. And while many don't actively promote sharing assignments, most professors would love it if there was more discussion among students around the ideas they ellaborated in their papers.
Nevertheless, some oppose publishing papers, particularly when they want to hand out the same task every time the class is taught. So we've set up a system that lets them tell you about this. When you publish something, we will ask you for your Professor's/TF's email address. They will automatically receive a notification, and can get in touch with you if they would rather that you take it down.

Absolutely. You can do that at any time. Your submission will no longer be shown on the site, and the former URL will display a message that the content has been unpublished.

You can choose for each thing you publish whether you want the general public (i.e. people who don't log in) to be able to read it or not. If you choose to allow access to people outside Harvard, you can then choose if search engines should be allowed to index your content or not [this is still being implemented].
